Arm, Elbow, Wrist and Hand

We have five special senses; sight, smell, taste, hearing and touch. The first four relate to the head and face. Touch, however, is experienced all over the body and most significantly with our hands. The sensitivity of our hands combined with the range of movement that the shoulder, elbow and wrist have, gives us the ability to feel the finest sensations and perform complex motor tasks for everyday living.

Pain of the arm and hand can be profoundly limiting to you in your day-to-day tasks. Conditions such as tennis or golfers elbow might well occur from playing sport. However, they also often develop from other repetitive or strenuous activities. Muscular contraction or inflammatory conditions might affect some of the nerves that can cause carpal tunnel or thoracic outlet syndrome. Degenerative conditions such as Rheumatoid and Osteoarthritis can be very painful problems more often experienced by older patients.

You might be typing your thesis, training for a tennis tournament or playing bridge but if arm and/or hand pain are stopping you from achieving your goals call The Osteopathy Centre to arrange an appointment to help you get back to your best. 07949 654722 is the handiest number.
